Humor me... Nothing excites me more than multisensory experiences added to live production. Layering.
At STORY, Blaine didn't just perform a story. He added illustrations by Kyle Steed, a live soundtrack and actual rainfall.
The Willow Christmas production featured a short film which included the sound of a helicopter on screen, but live search lights in the auditorium - a chilling effect
At STORY '10, Becky Johnson and Kari Jobe didn't just perform Winter Song. We added holographic snowfall.
Love what Secret Cinema is doing - they don't just show a movie in a secret location. They add live actors dressed to theme, a spectacle of performance and costume.
When we created backgrounds for speakers at STORY '11, we took still photographs and hired an animator to bring them to life. Here's one you can (right click to) download
I loved those backgrounds! I've been building similar stuff for my church. Love that you snapped your own photos.

I love this post...b/c nothing excites me more than this very thing.
As a VJ, I'm used to thinking about the projection in layers. But more recently, I've seen the entire environment as a metaphorical motion loop...filled w/ layers of mixed media.
All of this reminds me of the opening scene in "Finding Neverland."
