Deferring to "the better" applies to ideas as well, doesn't it? We might have a good idea, but another member of the team turns it into something we never thought of. An application more majestic, beneficial, impacting, whatever. It's better. Step aside. Yes, it does take a willingness to let go, especially when you don't have to.

Great explanation. I read a quote in a book once - something like, "There are those who like to sing and act and dance. And then there are those who like to create an environment where singers, actors and dancers can flourish - those are the producers." When I read the quote, I knew that's what I wanted to do.

Very true! As my wife and I venture into creating our own business, we'll have to wear a lot more hats, but finding better specialists who add value will be an opportunity to be better.

Love it!

being a producer comes with too many rewards to name. and if you create and own the environment, you get to occasionally go for a spin

Gordon makes a good point regarding "ideas".

A favorit quote of mine goes, "ideas are like children, they're special when they are your own."
