“In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The Israelites said to them, ‘If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.’” -Ex 16:2-3
Just two months into their quest for the Promised Land, the Israelites were longing for bondage again.
On the days when you’re ready to quit, are you yearning for “pots of meat” and the comforts of not dreaming? I hope not. I pray that you’re acclimating to the wilderness. I pray that you’re holding out for the Promised Land.
This was for me today! Thanks!

My memory of this event in scripture had melons (the "melons of egypt") in it. Typical of Israelies to make the story bigger with each telling... =)

I've heard it said that every church has a "back to Egypt" committee somewhere. I think we all have a "back to Egypt" gene though.

Brilliant as always. But this post really, really helped me today. Someone once called you the YODA of the church world and I think that is a great moniker that accurately describes your gifts and talents.
