~ Quote from this week's Time Magazine essay. There are some intriguing articles in Time's Person of the Year edition, which talks about Web 2.0, the YouTube, blogging, and podcasting phenomenon which is redefining celebrity and social networking. It's amazing to me that ideal social network ~ the church ~ is so far behind the curve on this one. But I don't think we've got a technology problem. I think we've got an authenticity problem.
Dan Goleman's book "Social Intelligence" is a great book about the social network. If you haven't read it, it is a must read.
Thanks for keeping us in your prayers.

Great point. I find it strange that we are so afraid of the internet. like it's out to get us or something. Our church is very "behind the times" we got over 5,000 people coming through our doors on a Sunday, but our website sucks, we do have the messages online, but besides that, we totally disconnected. I wish our pastor's did a blog so we can get to know them better.

i think oftentimes the pastoral community is afraid of each other, their denominations, and even the people to whom they minister.
