While Ainsley was delivering one of our kids in a birthing center a few years ago, the midwife who was holding my wife's hand suddenly winced and exclaimed: "You're squeezing my hand too hard!"
For a few minutes, I was utterly and completely baffled.
First, that your hand-pain could come anywhere close to the pain of a baby being shoved through my wife's... nevermind.
And second, it's YOUR JOB to have your HAND SQUEEZED HARD!
One of the best parts of coaching people in Dream Year is getting to walk through the most stretching seasons of life with them.
Pursuing an audacious dream doesn't just bring out the BEST in them, it brings out the frustration, the fear, the agony, the tears, the worries, the pain and lots of disrupted beliefs about themselves, about life, about God.
Sometimes I find myself yelling "PUSH!"
Other times, it's "breeeathe."
But no matter how tense those moments can be, I absolutely love it all.
It's my job to have my hand squeezed hard.

Thanks for letting me squeeze your hand today. This baby is gonna be worth it!!
