I think the biggest thing with the PDF's is that it allows you to gain some what of a tribe. I look at Mike hyatt and Randy Elrod's example of how they gave away free PDF books for an email. Much like what Derek Webb did with Noisetrade and offering up free music for an email you get a chance to build an audience and numbers. Now guys that have gained about 10,000 email addresses now can save that in their back pocket for the next release of something or trying to get advertisers.
You probably were not asking for an explanation, but that is me processing it in my head and then thinking out loud. It has sparked a lot in my mind. Especially the idea that trying to sell a product to a couple of thousand over giving it away to 20 thousand changes things.

Looking forward to hearing more about Charlotte meet up. Also I'm still working hard to get to Story this year. I have an aunt that lives about 30 min away from downtown. Hoping to finally get there!
