I watch meaningless banter all week on twitter among people of creativity, influence, and talent who are doing absolutely nothing great together. What's with that?
My father surprised me with an email last week stating that he had retired. No notice. No head's up. No party or gold watch. My dad was a school administrator, pastor, and then an executive for the Association of Builders and Contractors. He is the only reason I have an entrepreneurial bone in my body.
James MacDonald is pulling off an event in March that presents conversations between influential pastors who love the Gospel but use dramatically different methodologies. It's called The Elephant Room, and there is no other speaking line-up like it...
Ainsley and I hosted some friends for dinner on Saturday night who go back with us 13 years. I don't think we've laughed harder or stayed up later with company in our entire lives.
I reduced the price of the Dream Year retreat in Nashville because Cross Point graciously offered it host it in place of a hotel venue. The best rate ends Nov. 30. Register HERE.
A 20-something girl engaged to be married goes to Uganda on a missions trip and never comes back. Instead, she stays in Africa, loses her fiance, and adopts 14 little girls to raise by herself. She lost one of them last week. Read more about Kate.

I had a dream I laid down a couple of months ago, but last night the Holy Spirit slapped me up side the head with it...again. Something I thought would be years down the road, may now be next year.
I'm thankful to the Spirit of God for stirring us up to go beyond ourselves. And I am thankful for men and women of God who hear his voice and obey it.
Thanks for obeying God and always pushing forward. It seems God is drawn to emptiness, but it takes willing and obedient people to bring fulness to that emptiness.

I've been following Katie's story on her blog. Beautiful. Now, of course, I have tears for her loss. The depth of her love makes the pain of her loss so much more acute.
And then more tears when I checked on the Dream Year price drop. Dan is buying our ticket today. What a gift.
