For Whiteboard this year, I asked Joshua Blankenship to help shape the branding. Here are just a few of the pieces he created... He kept the pieces simple, but added some subtle flair with the nautical cartography in the background. This is the ID badge, notebook cover, and promotional mailer.

During my dot-com days, one thing I always liked at seminars was having the schedule integrated with my ID badge (hopefully on a lanyard, not pin-on).
If it was small enough, the entire schedule could be printed on the back. If larger, the schedule would fold into a smaller form, with the ID badge displayed.
There are lanyard badge holders that have a slot for the badge (or folded schedule) and a slot for a pencil (along with a third slot for a general title - Exhibitor, Speaker, etc.)
These were quite handy - I even used one for Awana - room for a pen, plus the title bar was great for all my Awana pins.)
