Okay, this is not a sponsored post. Casey Graham didn't pay me any money to write this. I just really like him. And the business model he's created in The Change Group is genius.
Wish I'd thought of it.
He provides bookkeeping services for churches that gives them a real-time dashboard on-line that shows them exactly where they are financially at any given moment. You just scan or fax your receipts to him once a week, and out comes a beautiful, well-organized financial report.
Where was this service when I was a church planter??
Finances have always been this big, putrid grease trap that somebody's gotta clean out...
Scott Hodge is using it. Granger is using it. Pete Wilson. Michael Lukaszewski... A-listers, I tell you.
I asked Casey a few questions to help you connect with what he's doing.
We want to provide a solid source for bookkeeping for churches so they can win people to Jesus, not stress over money. Many churches do a good job with their finances and get by. We want to provide church leaders with a great service so they can ultimately focus on and accomplish the purpose and vision of their church.
b. Lack of passion for this area.
c. Leading a not-for-profit organization, not just teaching the Bible.
Here's how to get a hold of him.

Nice I love it! I can think of a bazillion churches that would love something like this...

I feel like I might be missing a valuable tidbit here that used to be #2. OR you accidentally labeled #2: #3. Either way, LOVE the change group and what they are doing. Thanks for the heads up.

Even better than my blog post is a chat with Casey

Hey bro, just to clarify - Pete and Granger used the consulting side of our system, not the bookkeeping... :) Just want to keep it real, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for highlighting this Ben. As a new church (3 months old) we just went with the Change Group. They worked with us, and helped us create a custom package to fit our infancy needs. Church planers: go look it up!
