I looove football.
The living room on Sunday afternoons. The popcorn. The root beer. Retreating from the duties of the week. It's such a good feeling.
There's nothing better in the fall and winter.
But last winter, I decided to do the unthinkable.
Fast football.
Not really a fast. I don't mean to over-spiritualize it.
But I decided to substitute the time I'd spend watching games with creating a dream project.
I did it. And it happened. Is happening. And it's not STORY; it's a project to come.
It's funny, I don't miss week six watching the whoevers play the whoevers. Thought I would.
If anything, I miss the laziness.
But the exhilaration that came from seeing a dream come to life - through some incredibly hard work of course - was life changing. So much so that I'm going to do it again this season.

Ben, that really is inspiring to me, because I am just now trying to create a dream project as well. Thanks for the idea. I will consider doing something similar, except I might have to make an exception for Florida Gator games!

Ben, why did you have to do that to me! haha! Makes sense and I do waste sooo much time watching sports... I guess what it comes down to is living for the Kingdom or living for my football or golf. Sorry comment kind of scattered but thinking while writing. I feel a new blog post coming on for me!

I love me some football too. And while I don't have a Dream Project in the pipeline, I have a dream of being able to capture the imagination of USC college students with the Story. School has just started back and we are excited about the semester!

Your a man amongst boys and a better man than me. All stops when my beloved Seminoles come on TV. Fantastic idea, but I think I'll fast hockey;) But then I wouldn't have any extra time.....

Thanks for continuing to inspire!
Any hints on the "dream" project?

That is great! I truly believe that by your sacrifice, God will bless the effort that you put forth into your project.

I had to give up World of Warcraft in order to co-create and operate a ministry/project. I did it for 3 years. Now, I refuse to go back to video games. Instead, I choose to invest my time in creating epic tales of *real life* victory and defeat, rather than epic tales of *virtual* victory and defeat.

That's really motivating. I'm excited to hear about your projects and finish some of my own.
