There's a problem with advice...
We don't usually like each other's ideas.
Seriously.
I wouldn't have written your book... or started your kind of church... or branded your event that way... you get the drift. So when we ask each other for advice, we're getting a pretty biased perspective. All advice ought to end with "if you like that sort of thing."
Take comfort in knowing that great ideas are unrecognizable before they're executed.
In other words, it's okay if people don't like your ideas. They're not supposed to. Otherwise, they'd be their ideas. So go for it. Defy popular opinion.

If I had written this post I would have.... :)

i dont care for ideas bc its someone telling others what to do, een if a suggestion
i love ideas, others or mine, it dont matter... in an open source free economy world, ideas build on ideas get better bc of wisdom of crowds

Hey Ben! I think you're right. Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:
"Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats."
- Howard Aiken (His idea was to build "automated computer machines". In 1939. Not bad.)

Good stuff Ben. I'm with DJ on loving ideas. Love being a part of communities on and offline that push each other through idea sharing.
