So you know me. I like symbols. I like Chuck Colson's glasses, and Garrison Keillor's suspenders, and Steve Jobs' black mock turtleneck with jeans.
This is Rob Bell's symbol. Got it straight off his website. Used in place of his picture.
So what's your iconic look? Maybe it's there, but you haven't developed it yet. If you could use any symbol in place of your photo, what would it be?

I have hair like a girl. One of these days I may cut it, once I get permission.

my friend mack informed me that this is in fact the second time I've posted this concept. I do admit i like the subject. =)

Interesting! I've been using one I developed a while ago - not for any purposes other than just playing with the concept.
It's an informal cross/crosshair inside a circle. I don't use it as an avatar, but more as a personal logo (and for a site I"m toying with). The necessary :) cross image is there, the cross hair as an concept of "focus", and the circle is almost full - if you follow it clockwise, it's thick, then thins out as it reaches the start point again...a symbol of God's outpouring to me and how I return that, but it's not nearly as full or complete as His outpouring to me. :)
FWIW, you can see it on my site's placeholder page at http://michaelschutz.com

I was thinking of sporting a mullet ala Dog the Bounty Hunter.
