Had a great time with the family this weekend. If there's one thing I don't miss about pastoring, it's not having a weekend. Even when I took off on Mondays, my mind was already planning ahead for the next week. We disconnected at Stone Mountain here in Georgia, which is a pseudo amusement park. It's got train rides, sky lifts, paddle boats, and shows - everything my boys love.

What do you miss about pastoring? I'm just curious. I have been talking lots with God about my future and one of those directions could take me out of the church as a pastor and into a different kind of ministry. There are some things that I get really excited about and others that I wonder how I'll do not doing them. Anyways, just wondering how life after pastoring is.

I've found a better role as an encourager to pastors - so nothing that's keeping me up at night. But let me just add one more to the list of things I don't miss... =)
The gerbil wheel of sermon preparation

Stone Mountain. Great place! I went a few times as a kid, they had a really great laser-light show.
