For someone with a "sweet tooth" for leadership resources, working at Catalyst is like being an oompa loompa at Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Our offices are lined with bookshelves filled with books. We also have access to our parent company's on-line memberships and John Maxwell's home movies. =)
During my first week here, I watched a video by John Maxwell called "How I write." It was actually pretty ridiculous. He said "I pull out some paper... and write." His point was that most people who want to write books don't actually ever write anything. So the first step is... writing.
It kicked my butt, and I would dare say, it changed my life.
It's obvious to me that real influence comes with publishing. Those who write create legacy. They shape movements and they're considered thought leaders. Not to mention... they earn higher speaking honorariums. =) Catalyst has recently launched a publishing imprint because we believe in the power of written voices.

How do we get into this publshing imprint?

Abby, have you written anything?

I saw that video - it's on the Leadership Gold site. Classic Maxwell - he can turn a phrase better than most.
By parent company, is that Injoy or Injoy's parent company Giant Partners?

Giant Partners indeed Bill.
So have you written since? =)

Man, what a great wealth of resources at your fingertips, Ben. I'm a little envious - that's a lot of great content.
I have written, but nothing I'd be ready to share. Trying to get into the habit of writing every single day. I am not a great writer at all - hoping to develop my skills. There is something so powerful about language and the way words are used...
So, have you gotten to meet John Maxwell in person yet?

would love to hear more on the imprint. an imprint of a larger publisher? Giant alone? who can we expect to see publishing through this imprint? perhaps some Ben Arment? i can't wait. the more i read of your stuff, the more i see a really gifted writer / thought leader. you, Brad, Jeremie... all great voices.

Amazing Ben...who's in charge?
Secondly, how does one get published?

Well, I don't work for Catalyst anymore.
And you 1. build a platform, and 2. write a book.
