I decided to take a bold step this year... and get braces. So at the beginning of September, I'll look like half the 12 year olds in my neighborhood. Just a little crowding I want to take care of before I'm an old guy. But dude, I've gotta admit there's a big fear factor. Like what if I start saying "Catalysht" or calling my wife "Ainshley"? It's going to be a tough year...

No worries, friend - my dad just got braces about a year ago. It's the hip thing to do!

Don't worry. Tom Cruise got braces a few years ago. No one thinks he's weird or anything.

Welcome to the club...I am going on 2 1/2 years with them on and just a little bit left to go (32-year-old teeth are more stubborn than 12-year-old teeth). My ortho put clear ones on the top six, so it's really not as bad as I imagined it would be. You won't be the only one at Catalyst with braces :)

Dude, after I got my front teeth fixed following what I tell people was a Ultimate Fighting cage match, I talked with a lisp for a year and a half. I dreaded preaching until I banged my face into a door and that fixed it.
But you'll be fine. Really.

A youth pastor friend of mine started a church and decided to get his teeth fixed up since he was on stage more often. Of course we gave him a hard time, but the long term payouts are worth it!!
You'll have to update your profile pic though!
