Protective Parenting

So I took this picture thinking how stupid it is that kids aren't allowed to run on the playground. What kind of society do we live in when kids can't run in designated play areas?...

But then 10 minutes later, my 3 year old Wyatt runs between the branches of a young sapling that is being held-up with a razor wire left-over from the Vietnam War and practically gets beheaded. He was seriously close to losing an eye...

So... what kind of a society puts up razor wire on a playground at the head-level of a three year old?...
