The Hilton Washington is beautiful. Think I saw a couple of spies in the lobby. My hotel clock was wrong so I was late to the opening session. Didn't help that I got lost in the city. All I can say is thank God for the iPhone - instant remapping in traffic. DC is beautiful in the spring.
Now sitting in the perimeter of the elders meeting with 53 other weekenders. The elders are sitting around a square table in the middle of the room with microphones like a G9 Summit. Very cool.
I expected the elders to be old, stately bearded chaps - former statesmen and the like. But they're all mostly my age. This is a young church with ancient methods.
