Weekend Wrap-up

• Site Organic says they'll be finished with the WiBo site sooner than expected
• (I'll obviously have to alter my countdown in the sidebar next week)
• Had a terrific small group leaders' gathering last Sunday night for RCC
• Headed to Va Beach to speak at my home church on Sunday - quick trip
• Get to meet with friend Dave Daniels who runs the amazing Churchy Media
• Portable Church is flying in town next week for WiBo preparations
• Mtng next week with Tom Doyle, who heads church relations for Regal Cinemas
• Enjoyed chatting with my good friend and church planter Jay Hardwick
• Got a surprise call from Scott Hodge who is one of my favorite bloggers
• Sucked all of the conferencing knowledge I could out of Tony Morgan
• Matt's WiBo Facebook group is up to 114 members and climbing
• Craig Groeschel linked my post about a core group needing a planter. See? I'm not the only one who thinks that's amazing
• I've got some advice for putting together a resume: 1. two pages max, 2. no inserted pictures, and 3. don't list your hobbies. ugh.
• I bought a case of Reston Town Center books to promote WiBo
• My wife Ainsley's rumored to be starting a WiBo women's group soon

First-ever comment here, Ben. Love your stuff.

Why don't you like the photos and personal stuff on resumés? Not for all industries, to be sure, but in hiring for ministry it helps me get a sense of the whole person and often helps to put them at ease in the interview.

And honestly, one page is plenty, IMHO.

Thanks for commenting Rich! I recommend a nice 3x5 photo paper-clipped to the resume, but not printed on the actual sheet. Resumes always get photocopied, and the pics never hold up. As for hobbies, employers want to see someone with a strong work ethic, not fishing, on his mind. Maybe if you're applying for Wendy's...
