I scanned through my Google calendar to list some of the highlights for me in 2007. Although it was a great year, I've gotta say I'm really looking forward to 2008. God's got some great things in store...
- Relaunched our church as Reston Community Church in the Reston Town Center
- Raised $26,000 in 6 weeks through "the One Hundred Project" [half from blog readers!]
- Great time at the National New Church Conference in Orlando [but without the fam]
- Spent two days with Craig Groeschel and a few other heroes of mine in Oklahoma
- Road trip to Michigan to obtain our Portable Church solution
- Bought our first home in Brambleton, Virginia [our little piece of the American dream]
- Bought the iPhone [not one day of regret since]
- Attended Buzz Conference in DC [Tim Stevens blew me away]
- This blog featured in Brian Bailey's book The Blogging Church
- Showed 'Most' the movie on Father's Day [most touching film I've ever seen]
- Hosted neighborhood movie night [it rained... no, poured, but we still went through with it]
- Took a month-long speaking sabbatical in August [a healthy pastor doesn't constantly pour out]
- Invited to serve on the search committee for a new state exec director at SBCV
- Spoke at nearby Gateway Community Church [for my good friend Ed Allen]
- Presented the Myers Briggs Type Indicator to the entire NAMB staff [they laughed their head's off. Great crowd]
- Took Wyatt to the circus for the first time [I smashed his fingers in my seat at the beginning of the show, but I think he loved it by the end]
- Enrolled Wyatt in preschool [roll country music video about little boy growing up and getting married]
- Experienced our church's most successful small group semester ever [Ainsley's group was life changing]
- Assessed and presented Myers Briggs to Forefront Church staff [Vince Antonucci has such a great team]
- Started "men in training" leadership gathering every other Sunday night [we memorized whole chapters of scripture. Take THAT Chuck Norris!]
- Began organizing the Whiteboard Sessions at the Reston Hyatt for May 22 [watchout]

Happy New Year, Ben!
