We're giving away free lomography cameras to 10 lucky WiBo attenders. Here's how you can get one...
Join Matt's Whiteboard Facebook group But here's the deal - you have to work for your camera. If you win, here's how it works...
What have you got to lose? Go ahead and submit your photo. Oh... and you don't need to be a professional. Decent will do.
[What's Lomography?]
Lomo cameras are designed with intentional flaws and special effects to produce creative photos. Some are built with fish-eye lenses, multiple lenses, colored flashes, darkened edges, you name it. It's LoMo. Say NoMo. See you at WiBo.

I could've sworn my one year old Dylan said "Barack Obama" this morning.

I love the movie The Italian Job. My favorite part is when one of them hacks into the traffic light computers to mangle the roadways and steer an armored vechicle along a desired route. This is what the sovereignty of God feels like to me at times...
Some pathways are blocked and I can't figure out why. Others are wide-open and flowing; it takes almost no effort to get places. I try to remember this when affirmation is withheld, when I can't get momentum rolling, when plans are frustrated, when some opportunities come surprisingly easy...
God has somehow hacked into the traffic lights of my life, and he's got somewhere he wants to get me.

Dave's blog is the source of some fun iPhone / Starbuck fodder. Here's the QuickOrder concept application where you can peruse drink options and then order on your phone. And below, a little hip-hop for iPhone hipsters.

About 4 years ago, a mutual friend drove me downtown because I "had to meet this guy" who was launching churches along metro stops throughout DC. I became a big fan of Mark Batterson right away, and started a friendship that has blessed me bigtime through the years. When our church needed outdoor signs, Mark bought all of them for us. When he couldn't attend a leadership roundtable with some bigwigs, he sent me in his place... And when Mark had an open slot on a staff trip to the Catalyst Conference, Mark invited me along. He even gave me spending money. Unbelievable. But the experience changed me and it convinced me to never attend conferences alone. The investment in your team... the people around you... is worth it.
Photo on right is the team I took to Catalyst one year later, goofing off at the Waffle House, which is actually a strange concept here in the north.

Conference site is live... but may take some time to propogate throughout the country. Site Organic did an unbelievable job on this one. Not just because of the simple, beautiful design... but because the site is completely updateable on my end. After the conference, you'll see photo galleries, streaming media, feedback surveys, you name it....
If you'd like to help promote WiBo, here's a screenshot you can save and post. See you in Reston on May 22!

Matt just posted a behind-the-scenes video of our consultation with Portable Church at the Reston Hyatt on his Whiteboard Facebook group. We visited the hotel on a day when over 1,200 Episcopal priests were having a breakfast. One of the women asked if we were the singing group from JMU. "Why, yes we are!" =)

Went to Richmond all day yesterday for church planter gathering. Took Matt and Tony from RCC along for the purpose of... roooaaad-trriiiip! Had a great time with those guys. I think I made Tony nervous by checking e-mail on my iPhone while driving. =) I snapped a shot of my friend Shawn's creative note-taking ability.... We got home in the evening and met Portable Church's Kendra and Ron at the airport to dream about Whiteboard. PCI is handling the entire staging, A/V and lighting solution for WiBo... and it's going to be incredible. They listened to our dream for several hours over dessert and talked about how to execute them.

I need to publish a retraction. Today, I time-released a blog post to fire while I was in Richmond [in case you thought I actually blogged all day]
about someone "hacking" into our Whiteboard site. Big mistake...
Jeremy FOUND our site on the Site Organic gallery... he didn't "hack" anything. I was trying to be funny, but unknowingly gave the impression that Site Organic's servers and our site were unsecure. Nothing could be further from the truth. Site Organic's servers are like Fort Knox. They host sites here in the DC area that require the highest level of security.
We went through a long process to ensure the security and transaction protection of www.TheWhiteboardSessions.com - which will launch on Monday at 2:00 PM. Nuff said.

The other day, in a nice gesture, I linked the stripped tblog of one Jeremy Pickwell, who is worship pastor at Lifepoint Church - a Ground Level Network church. Well, Pickwell returned the favor by finding our Whiteboard site on the Site Organic gallery page Our site is scheduled to launch this Monday at 2:00 PM. He got logged in and everything - just short of registering for the conference. I didn't know how he found it until today, but he threatened to advertise the temporary URL if I didn't arrange lunch for him with the conference speakers. I don't cower easily. Everybody picket Pickwell! =)

Got to talk with Camron Ware again the other night. He's creating the widescreen visuals for Whiteboard. Glad to have him on-board because I love his architectural projection at Irving Bible Church. I've been burning up mental fuel wondering how his art would mesh with Barton's motion graphics for the event... Turns out, he's just down the road from Bart near Dallas. Those two will have get together for a latte. Anyway, Camron will be on-hand at Whiteboard to talk about large-scale projection with anyone who stops by his booth.

Just finished a two-hour virtual meeting with Site Organic - the web sponsor for Whiteboard. They walked me through the completed
WiBo site, which they finished much sooner than expected. It will launch at www.TheWhiteBoardSessions.com this Monday at 2:00 pm EST. The site looks amazing, and we're preparing for a sell-out pretty soon with the limited seating we have. I encourage you to register early. I've updated the countdown in my sidebar to keep the launch on your radar.

Dave Daniels just posted Podcast Episode 10 on Churchy Media, featuring yours truly talking about Whiteboard. I sound like a public relations person for a pharmaceutical company. =) But I love how Dave introduces me and then the show busts out with some hip-hop music like I'm mixing the turn-tables... scratching and beat-boxing. I love Dave. He could be on a sitcom. I can't believe he devoted a whole show to Whiteboard.
