The second speaker to announce for the Whiteboard Sessions is Mark Dever, senior pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, and founder of 9Marks Ministries.
Mark is one of the most brilliant pastors in the country, and has a strong passion for Gospel-growth, rather than church growth. The Oxford trained pastor has authored numerous books, including 9 Marks of a Healthy Church, and he helped create the famed Together for the Gospel conference every other year in Louisville. He also hosts a monthly phone conference with some of the leading theologians in the country, including John Piper, John McArthur, Al Mohler, RC Sproul, CJ Mahaney, and others. It's such an honor to have Mark at Whiteboard -- and I'm sure his compelling idea will cause some sleepless nights for all of us...
Tomorrow's announced speaker is one of the leading writers and visioneers in ministry...

Well you're right, I never would have guessed Dever. Very interesting lineup so far. Is there going to be any interaction among the speakers?

I will definitely be there. Dever is wonderful, and definitely keeps things Gospel centered. I'm getting excited for TWS.

depending on the availability of the speakers, we'll do a Q&A with everyone at the end of the day.
Yeah... it's going to get even better. stay tuned.

Alright Ben...you had me at Stevens, now I'm looking at airfare after Dever. Can it really get any better? :)

Interesting... :-) But if you tell me CJ Mahaney is in the lineup too, I'm a-comin' after ya! ;-)
Just kidding... Dever's cool.

OK so this has been the best blog find ever and now the white board sessions. How does one register - I don't want to miss this!

Guys, I think you'll be in for a treat! Sitting under his authority and teaching for a couple of years was HUGE in my life and I thank the Lord for providing an opportunity like that. I think and act differently since being challenged by him and the other leaders and by the Spirit at CHBC. I leave you with this exert from Preaching the Cross, T4G, "The Christian message of a crucified Christ calls us to a different goal than we would otherwise pursue in this life." Amen to that!

I love the responses you guys are posting. I'm saving some of the biggest surprises for last, however. You are going to be blown away...

So here's my question: Is everyone talking on the same idea? Will that be the final reveal?
Posted by: Clayton Bell | December 04, 2007 at 10:01 PM
no... i'll phrase it better in the official marketing. Each speaker brings one compelling idea of their own. I'll work on the copywriting. =)
