- Our guys small group on Saturday morning was awesome. Maybe it's because I just devoured Wild at Heart... but having a "band of brothers," a "fellowship of the ring" is such a sweet thing.
- Just listened to Rick Warren's speech at the July 2006 TED Conference. Interesting to hear him speak in an almost Mars Hill-like setting...
- We had tons of people at our newomer's lunch on Sunday. But one big problem... Uno's Pizza couldn't handle our business with their limited number of servers on hand. We had to relocate to Panera.
- Matt is on deck to finish our Story message series next Sunday, so I get to put more energy into building our ministry teams and expanding our children's ministry this week.
- I just finished reading Bill Hybels' book "When Leadership and Discipleship Collide" and was really convicted by his thoughts on "holy interruptions" that come into a pastor's week that are so vital for staying synced with the Holy Spirit. On my way to church on Sunday morning, I doubled back on the toll road to check on a stranded motorist. He didn't need my help, but I feel like I completed God's first assignment for me. =)
- What is your biggest pet peeve as a leader? "The discouragement that comes when someone could have chosen a better path but instead chose one that will not give them nearly the potential they possessed." ~Ted Haggard on The Leadership Blog, August 29, 2005

Ben, can you expand on the Bill Hybles book a little bit? There's no explanation on amazon.com but is sounds like a great concept.
