Great article in Fast Company this month about whether leadership is inherited... or learned. Turns out, the bigger factor in determining your effectiveness may be exactly what you believe about this issue.
People who believe leadership is learned don't mind taking chances, exposing their vulnerabilities... knowing they'll learn through the experience and become improved.
But people who believe leadership is inherited are reluctant to take risks for fear of exposing their limited knowledge and abilities.

Ben - Thanks for the post and attention to the source of leadership. I think that leadership is learned, may be inherited, and may be most effective when earned by experience and effectiveness.
