Advertising agencies, film companies and web start-up phenomenons are all run by young people. Capitol Hill is overrun with young people. I interned at the White House at 21... all young people there too. But if you look at our churches' denominations... all old people. I understand the need for aged wisdom in ministry, but I caught this blurb in the SBC's national publication Facts & Trends:
[At the SBC annual meeting], The FAITH luncheon for FAITH trained pastors will be Tuesday, June 12, immediately following the morning business session. Former SBC President... Bobby Welch will give a 'Who Let the Dogs Out' charge.
wha?
Oh, wow. I heard a guy last weekend say how he was going to get "crunked" and I'm pretty sure he was in his 50's.
There's aged wisdom...and then there's that.
