Random thoughts on a Saturday

Random thoughts on the day before Easter...

• We have a Christmas and Easter phenomenon at our church. Rather than our folks visiting their families for holidays, their parents visit us. Makes for a packed Sunday... but also makes it feel like grandparents day back when I was in elementary school. =)
• Who pastors the pastor? Man, I need a fill-up baaaadly... Looking forward to a couple of replenishing opportunities in a few weeks ~ National New Church Conference and a meeting with a group of pastors in Oklahoma City.
• I'm exploring Second Life to see the amazing things Life Church.tv is doing in this virtual reality world. Makes me nervous though... I keep expecting Chris Hansen to knock on my door and ask, "What were you doing in there?"
• I love these quotes from Jesus about being surprised by people's faith in Matthew 8 & 9. If I crash and burn, I want it to be because I had too much faith than because I played it safe. I want Jesus to look at my faith and go "whooaaa... hold on. Humans don't get to do that... well... I guess it wouldn't hurrr... okay then." =)

• I'm reading one of the most incredible leadership books I've ever picked up: A Leader in the Making by ... [drum roll please] ... Joyce Meyer. Who would have thunk it.
• Leadership book I'm still waiting on... something by TD Jakes.
• Today is the day the disciples were contemplating their career options... Jesus was dead... "Do I get myself a scroll deal? ... "I wonder if dad will let me have my old fishing job back" ... "Should I look for the body?"

ben, i've been praying God would rock your service tomorrow! that He would prepare all the hearts that will attend, and they will not go out of your doors unchanged. questions will be considered, and ultimately lives changed. i know He can do it! and He will!!!! - BELIEVE!!!! He is using YOU!!!!
