I need to arrange an automatic reply for my e-mail account that says "Don't be hatin'' from some of the e-mails I've received for our roadside signs. It's just in Reston ~ nowhere else does anyone give us trouble. Restonites don't mind if you put up yard signs with '1-800-Got-Junk' or 'Long & Foster'... but if it has anything to do with God, watch out. =) Every form of outreach is an experiement for us. Not everything works. But it's heart-breaking to see how resistant many people are to Jesus Christ... They truly need a fresh introduction to who he is and why he came to this earth... And that's why we're here.

yea, it's amazing that no one complains about "fredo for govenor" but put a church sign in and they start petitions.
we had great response from signs, and several fruitcake responses as well.

Ben my friend, it is not just in Reston. We too had tried this a year ago or so and we got our fair share of hassle through calls, emails and all as well.
Keep up the good fight, and be strong and courageous while you continue to see everything as an experiment.

I know it's colossally uncool of me, but I'm dying to read some of what they had to say.

Caroline, you are sick. =)

Our just get stolen... constantly.

I've got Caroline's morbid curiosity to read some of those emails as well... I wonder if they would complain if the signs were for some other religion or scientology or whatever. Imagine what Restonites are like when they're sick. That's my job. :/
