Tonight, 7 friends and I went to Arlington's Cinema and Draft House for Rob Bell's Everything is Spiritual Tour... which featured the largest dry-erase white board on the face of the planet. No video, no music, just Rob and a looooong whiteboard. It was Nooma meets science class for the first hour, as Rob described the mysteries and conundrums of the universe, which can only be explained by a Creator.
It really was fascinating... he had us right there... but then it was all down hill. The biggest take-away challenge he offered from all these signs of an intelligent designer: don't work too hard. ugh.
This event would have been amazing for spiritual inquirers, but I think the Rob Bell-loving community of Christians snatched up all the tickets at this sold-out event. I was one of them, hogging a seat. At times, I think Rob takes on the Stephen Colbert philosophy of becoming an expert on something that nobody else knows enough about to disagree. But this event glorified our creator... and demonstrated Rob's incredible mind.

I was at the draft house as well. I agree with your summary. It was a great experience, but I should have given my tickets to a person who really needed to hear all that information. I already agree with everything that he said. I love your blog, and I enjoy your sermons.
God Bless

I thought about going when Rob was in Ft. Worth, but after reading your summary, I think it's ok i didn't go...
i think i would have just been a Christian tourist rather than a spriritual listener.
