At both Buzz and the New Churches Conference, I was blown away at the number of references to "History makers" and "telling our story" throughout the conference ~ which was very confirming for me. I've heard a lot of critics slam our church's name over the years... including one local pastor who said we sounded like a cult and ought to change it. But I think History is an unforgettable name, and probably sounds as obscure as 'Apple' when Steve Jobs was starting out. [I'll take that kind of cult following any day.] Interestingly, we picked our name about a year before Dan Kimball decided to call his church Vintage Faith Church.
